Orientation

Despite significant shifts in the higher education landscape, a comprehensive orientation is consistently identified as one of the most effective ways to help students get exposure to college expectations, resources, culture, and ultimately to build a strong foundation for success in college. Orientation is broadly defined as assisting students with their transition to college, and over time it has become more sophisticated by also encompassing the orienting of students’ parents and family members. Orientation typically includes assisting incoming students and their parents/family members with the opportunity to explore what it means to be enrolled in an institution of higher education.
