Online Education: Teaching and Assessment

Online education, the delivery of instructional content by means of the Internet, is recognized as a transformational educational force in the 21st century, but it has its origins in the advent of computers in the middle of the 20th century. Computers inspired instructional innovation in machine learning to signify how users interacted with the new technology, but the phrase certainly also refers to how machines themselves can be said to learn as part of human efforts to automate education, with new roles for teachers.
