Coupons

Coupons allow consumers to buy goods or services for less than the list price. There are two main types of coupons, those issued by manufacturers and those issued by stores. Consumers can find paper coupons in newspapers, in the mail, or in stores. In recent years, the Internet has become a popular space for coupons. Coupons for grocery items represent a large percentage of all coupons, and most coupons for food are for snacks and cereals.

Groupon (a combination of the words group and coupon) is a social coupon site. Launched in 2008, it operates in specific geographic markets, and membership is free.
