Tourism is a phenomenon that broadly describes the motivations, behaviors, and expenditures of people who travel to places outside their usual place of residence. As transportation has become more accessible, affordable, and efficient, more people are traveling to cities, regions, or countries predominately for leisure or vacation. While visiting a place, individuals often will consume local food and beverages. Food and beverages are acknowledged to be an important part of a visitor’s experience and are identified as a factor in the visitor’s decision-making process about where to travel, what to eat, and what activities to participate in while temporarily residing in a specific place.
