Social Media in Elementary School Settings

Social media are Internet-based technologies designed to be used by more than one person. Social media includes any online technology used to enable people to collaborate, including (a) social networking tools; (b) blogs, microblogs, video blogs; (c) work collaboration tools; (d) virtual immersive environments; (e) mobile tools, platforms, and applications; (f) shared media; (g) social bookmarking; and (h) shared workspaces.
