National Football League (NFL)

The National Football League (NFL) is the professional American football league (AFL) in the United States. It is a nonprofit association with a commissioner as its head, who has authority over the league’s governance. It is one of the four major professional sports leagues in North America and is composed of 32 teams, divided equally between the National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football Conference (AFC). The NFL runs across a 17-week regular season, with each team playing 16 matches and 1 week without a game, called the bye week (proposals to increase the regular season to 18 games have consistently been rejected in labor negotiations with the NFL Players Association).
