Sexual Offenders: Treatment Approaches

The main objective of this entry is to examine whether there is a particular style of treatment that delivers maximal outcome in terms of reducing sexual reoffending. For example, examination of the efficacy of evaluated sexual offender treatment programs may suggest superiority of a certain method of treatment, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and for treatment approach, such as the therapist’s style. This entry focuses on the treatment of adult male sexual offenders, as they constitute the highest proportion of sexual offenders.
