Academic Disciplines

An academic discipline can be defined as a field of study. Usually an academic discipline focuses on one area of knowledge, studied at a university or higher education institution. An academic discipline is comprised of many working pieces, such as intellectual experts who may educate others, issues and inquisitions within the discipline leading to research, and application of knowledge to real-world settings.
