Preparing Early Childhood Teachers to Implement Digital Media

Living and learning in the digital age raises important questions about how early childhood teachers are prepared, and how prepared teacher educators and professional development providers are, to integrate digital technology and media into teaching practices and teacher preparation. This entry explores the connection between the foundational knowledge and experiences early childhood educators gain through traditional preservice and in-service training and what else they need to know and be able to do in the digital age. Implications for digital age teacher preparation and teacher educators are identified and explored.
