Infant rooms are spaces set up and purposely planned for the care and education of children from about 6 weeks of age to about 12 to 15 months. Infants are sometimes included in multiage groups with 1- and 2-year-olds. Infant rooms are found in full- and part-time group care settings including family childcare homes, community childcare centers, nursery and preschool programs, childcare ministries, and many community programs supporting families such as in YMCAs and family resource centers, as well to those that provide care during religious services in churches, synagogues, and mosques.
