Copyright Issues in Research

The function of copyright in communication research methods is a focus on the end game of a project. A researcher does not need to be concerned about issues of originality of methods or conflicts over citations because of the established protection of fair use. When seeking publication of a research report, however, a researcher must be aware of the implications of signing a copyright agreement form for their work.
