The results section of a research manuscript appears after the methods section and reports the outcomes of the analyses used to evaluate the research questions and/or hypotheses. The results section is critical because the goal of any research project involves the presentation of information based on some type of analysis of the empirical world. The application of a system of evaluation and analysis requires a presentation of the outcomes of that acquisition and evaluation capable of interpretation by an audience familiar with the rules for inference in that system.
