California Verbal Learning Test

The California Verbal Learning Test, Second Edition (CVLT-II), published in 2000, is a test of verbal learning and memory using a multiple-trial word list and is an update of the original CVLT, published in 1987. The CVLT-II includes a larger, more representative normative sample; an improved word list with increased item salience; and several new scores allowing for a more refined analysis of the quality of performance. The CVLT-II includes additional forms to circumvent previous exposure to task stimuli during a repeat evaluation (i.e., Alternate Form) as well as two alternate short forms that are more suitable for patients who are older, more impaired, fatigued, or highly anxious.
