Behavior Assessment System for Children

The Behavior Assessment System for Children–Second Edition (BASC-2) is a multidimensional assessment tool used to evaluate emotional and behavioral problems, personality, and adaptive functioning of young people of ages 2 through 25 years. It is a revision of the Behavior Assessment System for Children (BASC). The BASC-2 measures several facets of behavior and personality, including both positive aspects, such as self-esteem, and negative dimensions, such as depression. Assessing these factors may benefit clinicians in the diagnostic and treatment selection process. The BASC-2 allows examiners to gather information from multiple sources potentially enhancing diagnostic reliability.
