The American Psychological Association (APA) is an organization dedicated to the field of psychology, including advancing scientific discoveries and improving the way in which psychology is perceived within the United States. With mental health disorder, treatment, and the field of psychology still being viewed unfavorably by many Americans, the APA aims to bridge the gap between potential patients and providers in an attempt to benefit individuals as well as society as a whole.
