Roadmap for Mental Health Research in Europe

The Roadmap for Mental Health Research in Europe (ROAMER) is an initiative of the European Commission that spanned from October 2011 to March 2014, with its report delivered in May 2015. The stated goal of ROAMER was to set priorities for the next 5 to 10 years for research on mental health in Europe, and it was oriented toward translational research to promote and integrate the biological, clinical, social, and public health aspects. This was deemed necessary in light of the high burden that mental health disorders place on individuals, families, and society and the comparatively low amount of resources invested to resolve this burden.
