Neurodevelopmental Hypothesis

The reciprocal effects of the complex nature of biology and the environment have long been an area of focus in the study of human development. The answer to the age-old question “Does nature (biology) or nurture (environment) matter more in development?” is relatively complex. But put simply, both matter at different times, as development is a complex interaction between biology and the environment. With advances in technology, recent research has shed light on possible disruptions in brain development and the resulting symptoms that may manifest in childhood and even later in life.
