Cognitive behavioral couple therapy (CBCT) is an effective short-term, evidence-based treatment approach to helping couples with relationship problems. Despite well-known advantages and merits of stable and happy marriages, statistics show a significant increase in divorce rates in both developed and developing countries. In the United States, 50% of all marriages end in divorce, whereas in many European countries, on average, almost 40% of all marriages fail. However, researchers cannot necessarily conclude that couples, by staying together in the marriage, are happily married.
