Legislation, Proposed: House Bill 1367

House Bill 1367 was introduced to the Indiana General Assembly by Representative Cindy Noe to take the responsibility of outreach services from the current provider, the Indiana School for the Deaf (ISD) and transfer these services to a new organization create by the state government. By doing this, the office which handles the budget for this area can be managed and appropriated according to state guidelines. With respect to the bill, the proposal outlines that HB 1367 will not in any way have bias towards certain organizations that provide services for the deaf but will be created “to ensure optimal language skills and academic abilities, regardless of the mode of communication,” for everyone.
