THE STATE OF Oregon provides solid support of stem cell research. A chief site for stem cell research in Oregon is the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in Portland. On the top floor of its Biomédical Research Building, the OHSU boasts its Oregon Stem Cell Center (OSCC). The mission of the OSCC is to conduct “basic and applied research in the field of stem cell biology with the long term goal to harness the properties of stem cells for regenerative medicine and cell therapy.”
