Okano, Hideyuki

HIDEYUKI OKANO IS a Japanese scientist and currently one of the leaders in neural stem cell research. At present, he has an appointment as a professor in the Department of Physiology, Keio University School of Medicine, Japan. He graduated from the Keio University School of Medicine in 1983. He worked for Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (1989–92), the Institute of Basic Medical Sciences in Tsukuba University, Japan (professor, 1994–97), and the Osaka University Graduate School of Medicine, Japan (professor, 1997–2001). Then he moved to Keio University in 2001.
