INTERNATIONAL LAW AND the regulation of stem cell research, particularly embryonic stem cell research, has been a difficult and contentious issue for nations and international organizations. Many different perspectives exist, within nations and within individual cultures, that have differing views and interpretations of stem cell research and its ethical effects. A truly comprehensive set of international regulations is still under development and may continue to be debated for many years.
