Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is the most common nerve injury in the upper extremity and one of the most common nerve injuries overall. It is an injury to the median nerve at the wrist, initially causing numbness, tingling, or painful sensations in the thumb, index, middle, and half of the ring fingers. As the injury progresses, it may eventually produce weakness within the affected hand. CTS is more common in women and people who perform repetitive tasks using the wrist.
