Torticollis, Acute

Acute torticollis, also known as wryneck, is a twisting of the neck causing the head to be tilted and rotated to one side. It is typically caused by spasms of the muscles on one side of the neck. Torticollis may be congenital (present at birth), but acute torticollis usually affects individuals between the ages of 30 and 60, with a greater incidence in females than in males.
