Arthroscopy is a technique in sports surgery that is becoming increasingly popular. It involves the insertion of a camera, or arthroscope, into a joint through small skin incisions termed arthroscopic portals. The image within the joint is then projected onto a video screen and can be used for both diagnostic and treatment purposes.
