Principles of Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy

Rehabilitation is the process of restoring function after sustaining an injury and/or illness. The major goal of a rehabilitation program is to attain maximal independence in all activities of daily living (ADL), including independence in recreation and sports activity. In some cases, if this is not possible, the secondary goal is to achieve functional independence within the limits of the disability.
