Imagery and Visualization

Imagery and visualization (terms often used interchangeably) represent a set of skills that are at the core of sport psychology interventions. Simply defined, imagery represents using one's mind to create images in multiple sensory modalities (hence making visualization somewhat of a misnomer), in an environment where one can relax, imagine excellent performance, adjust one's arousal or motivation level, and/or problem solve without ever leaving one's comfortable seated position.
