In athletics, one often hears the terms groin pull and groin strain. Groin is the word usually used for the crease or hollow at the junction of the inner part of each thigh with the trunk and the adjacent region. Groin pull usually refers to minor tears of some muscle fibers without a major effect on the main muscle.
