Gluteal Strain

Gluteal strain is a trauma to the gluteal muscles, a group of three muscles of the buttocks and upper thigh, the gluteus maximus, gluteus medius, and gluteus minimus. A strained muscle is colloquially known as a pulled muscle and involves a tear of the muscle fibers. The tear occurs as a result of overstretching the muscle beyond the amount of tension or stress that it can withstand.
