Foot injuries are fairly common in sports and can present as both acute and chronic problems. They are particularly common in running, jumping, and kicking sports such as football, basketball, and soccer, as well as in dance and gymnastics. Acute injuries include fractures, ligament and tendon injuries, and more minor injuries such as blisters and contusions. Chronic or overuse injuries include stress fractures and tendon injuries.
