American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine

Established in 1972 by a group of renowned orthopedic surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) is recognized as a world leader in sports medicine education, research, communication, and fellowship. The society works closely with many other sports medicine specialists, including trainers, physical therapists, family physicians, and others, to improve the identification, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of sports injuries. Formed originally as a forum for education and research with 100 members, AOSSM today has more than 2,500 members.
