Exercise and Mitral Valve Prolapse

The mitral valve is located between the upper (atrium) and lower (ventricle) chambers of the left side of the heart. Normally, it allows blood to flow from the top to the bottom chamber only. Mitral valve prolapse (MVP) is a condition in which the mitral valve is loose and somewhat “floppy,” so that it doesn't shut as firmly as it should.
