Complex Regional Pain Syndrome

Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a puzzling chronic pain syndrome with underlying dysfunction of the central and/or peripheral nervous system. Usually involving an arm or leg, CRPS causes continuous, intense pain out of proportion to the severity of injury. This uncommon disorder can affect athletes with limb injuries.
