Sweden

Founded on June 6, 1523, Sweden (officially the Kingdom of Sweden) is located in northern Europe and has an area of 173,860 square miles (450,295 square kilometers). It had an estimated population of 9.1 million in July 2012. Sweden is comprised of indigenous groups with Finnish, Sami, and other minorities that include Yugoslavs, Danes, Norwegians, Greeks, and Turks. As a result of the government's financial investment in education and healthcare, Sweden is among the most equitable countries in terms of education attainment; the country had an income Gini coefficient of 0.25 in 2011 and has consistently ranked in the top 10 countries on the Human Development Index.
