Poland
The Republic of Poland is located on the Baltic Sea in central Europe surrounded by Germany to the west, the Czech Republic to the south, and Belarus, Lithuania, Ukraine, and Russia to the east. The country is 120,726 square miles (312,685 square kilometers) with a population of over 38 million people.
History
Historically, education has been an important part of Polish society. Jagiellonian University, the oldest in eastern Europe, was established in Krakow in 1364. In the mid-1500s, Poland, then the largest state in Europe, was home to a diverse group of people.
