The Commonwealth of Australia is the world's sixth-largest country, with a total area of 2,941,299 square miles (7,617,930 square kilometers). The population was estimated at 22.6 million in June 2011. With a 2.7 percent annual growth rate in 2010, Australia's economy had $39,699 per capita and $882.4 billion total gross domestic product (GDP). Australia is among the most developed countries in the Southern Hemisphere. As a major exporter of agriculture products and natural resources, its economic sector includes agriculture, the service industry (such as tourism, banking, education), and mining.
