Covering an area of 69,903 square miles, Oklahoma is the 20th largest of the American states. According to the 2010 census, the population is 3,751,351. The state's history is interwoven with that of the more than 50 Native American tribes that call Oklahoma home. Other aspects of Oklahoma's history deal with the cowboys who rode the land as it was settled in the late 19th century, the devastating Dust Bowl that struck in the early 20th century, and the bombing that took place at the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building on April 19, 1995, killing 168 people.
