Minnesota

The state of Minnesota is located in the upper midwest region of the United States of America and covers an area of 79,627 square miles (204,609 square kilometers). It is bordered on the north by Canada, on the west by North Dakota and South Dakota, on the south by Iowa, and on the east by Wisconsin and Lake Superior. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Minnesota's population in 2010 was 5,303,925 people. Minnesota's early economy was characterized by raw material acquisition, including forestry, agriculture, and mining. However, its contemporary economy rests on corporations, financial institutions, and the health care industry. Minnesota is home to UnitedHealth Group, Target, Best Buy, and 3M.
