Indonesia

Indonesia is a large and complex country that has achieved great success in extending basic education to its citizens. The challenges now are to improve the quality of that education, to enhance access to education and educational attainment for disadvantaged citizens, and to better match students' educational achievements with employment outcomes. Indonesia is an archipelagic country of 13,000 inhabited islands, straddling the equator.

It is the fourth-largest country in the world in terms of population, with about 245 million people. It is the largest Muslim-majority nation in the world, with 86 percent of the population Islamic; there are significant religious minorities.
