Sam Sheppard (1923–70) was an osteopathic physician and neurosurgeon turned professional wrestler who was convicted of murdering his pregnant wife Marilyn in 1954. He served 10 years of a life sentence before his conviction was overturned. He was later acquitted in his second trial. Sheppard's case is well known for a variety of reasons.
