Procunier v. Martinez

Procunier v. Martinez (1974) established limits on prisons’ rights to censor mail to and from inmates and established prisoners’ rights to meet with law students and legal paraprofessionals who are working on the prisoner's behalf. The case was a significant milestone in American law because it extended limited constitutional rights to prisoners under the First and Fourteenth Amendments.
