Infanticide

Perhaps one of the most underreported causes of death in the United States, infanticide takes the lives of between 100 and 300 infants annually. Despite the availability of contraceptives and abortion, as well as new laws in all 50 states that allow parents to abandon without legal repercussion unharmed infants within seven days of birth, cases of infanticide have remained fairly constant.
