Anna Green (1846–1935) was an American dramatist and author of poetry, short stories, and novels. She is best remembered as one of the first American detective fiction writers and is often credited with being among those who pioneered significant features that led to the popularity of the genre. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, to James Wilson, a prominent attorney, and Catherine Ann (Whitney) Green but was raised by her father and stepmother Grace Hollister in Buffalo, New York, following her mother's death when Anna was only an infant. ...
