United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority that is responsible for the world’s environmental agenda, promoting the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations and serving as an advocate for the global environment. Its mission is to guide and strengthen partnership in caring for the environment by encouraging, enlightening, and enabling nations and peoples to improve their quality of life without sacrificing future generations’ quality of life. The organization’s agenda encompasses assessing global, regional, and national environmental conditions and trends, developing international and national environmental instruments, and strengthening institutions for the efficient management of the environment for the planet’s sustainability.
