Stakeholder dialogue is an organizational process, a way of managing stakeholder relationships and facilitating strategic communication to understand stakeholder interests, meet expectations, respond to needs, and resolve issues. It is a form of organizational communication founded in collaboration, dialogue, and the mutual benefit of participants involved. While an overall approach to working with stakeholders, it is also a structured way of communicating about and dealing with complex issues, including wicked problems, such as global warming and poverty issues. Stakeholder dialogue has been utilized in policy formation, the application of corporate social responsibility practices, and in dealing with environmental issues.
