Quality of life is the result of the interaction between features of existence and their impact on well-being. This entry will particularly consider human quality of life, although of course, human activity has the capacity to affect, for good or ill, the natural environment and the well-being of other living things.

Quality of life has an inescapably subjective dimension. The same phenomena may have different effects on different individuals, owing to differences in values, culture, personality, and so on.
