Internet of Things (IoT)

The Internet of things (IoT) is a network of devices that have embedded sensors and software that allow them to exchange data with other devices. These devices are all connected to the Internet and can send information about their states and what they have recorded to other devices that can respond to this information. For example, a smartphone application (app) can send a signal to raise the heat when a sensor reports that a room is too cold, or to raise or lower the shades when the sun is too strong.
