Hewlett-Packard

The U.S. computer company Hewlett-Packard (HP) was founded in 1939 by Bill Hewlett and David Packard who both graduated from Stanford University in 1934. From its humble beginnings in a one-car garage while Hewlett and Packard were still students at Stanford, the company continued to grow. The company was first headquartered in Palo Alto, California, and was considered one of the early pioneers in developing what is known today as the Silicon Valley.
