Centres (Assessment Centres)
Introduction
In general terms, ‘assessment centres’ are those processes used for marking, evaluating and predicting people's applied skills, know-how and knowledge based on situational tests.
The empirical base for this method is simple, and has been voiced on various occasions. According to experiments carried out in the behavioural branch of psychology, the best indicator of a person's behaviour is his past behaviour, shown in a given situation. As a result, if we want to predict a person's efficiency in a given situation or before a set of tasks which could prove critical in carrying out his future professional responsibilities, we must observe, classify and evaluate his behaviour accurately in these types of situations in the present, or determine what type of conduct was shown in the ...
