PAN-AFRICANISM refers to a multifaceted international movement that involves the intellectual, emotional, and physical connection of people of African descent to the continent of their forebears. It is a form of Black Nationalism, a term that refers to the belief that black people have a common experience based on cultural factors stemming from the African Diaspora (the forced dispersion of people of Africa to other lands) with the resulting issues of slavery and other forms of exploitation.
